Two wins for Polk County on the second Miss Florida night

LAKELAND – Polk County based contestants swept the superlatives during the second round of the Miss Florida and Miss Florida Teen Competition held Friday night at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

Miss Winter Haven, Cassidy Goldman, won the talent portion of the evening with her Mozart opera solo from “Queen of the Night,” while Miss Florida Citrus, Leila Sabet, scored a win in the evening wear portion of the event.

On the teen side, Isabella Iannuzzi took of talent portion after performing a ballet selection from “Swan Lake,” while Kayley Klatt took home a win on the on-stage question portion of the teen event.

Winnings for the night were a $200 scholarship for the teens and a $300 scholarship for the miss candidates.

Friday night concluded the preliminary portion of the event. The finale for the teens starts Saturday at 3 p.m. while the Miss Florida finale starts at 7:30 p.m., both at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
