The Florida Half Century Amateur Softball Association will take over the Loyce Harpe in Lakeland, the Polk State Diamondplex in Winter Haven and the Auburndale Softball Complex in Auburndale both Saturday and Sunday as they battle for softball supremacy.
While the teams are officially for players at least 60 years old, many of the teams have at least a player in their 70s.
“We’ve had a great relationship with the Florida Half Century organization for years,” said Mark Jackson, the director of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing. “They love coming to Polk County for not only the great weather but the food and friendliness as well. And we love having them here.”
