Safari Wilderness Run
The expansive private wilderness area, Safari Wilderness Ranch, will be holding the Safari Wilderness Run Saturday, Feb. 17, at 8 a.m. The ranch is located at 10850 Moore Road in Lakeland.
The race will be close to five kilometers long. Participants will cover a course consisting of grass, dirt, gravel and sand. Much of the course is not groomed, but will be mowed as low as possible. If there is rain there will be spots of mud and puddles. Given the nature of the course, exact measuring will be a challenge.
The race will be chip timed. Refreshments and awards will be presented after the race. Everyone participating will receive a unique Safari Wilderness medal.
Entrants wanting to walk are encouraged to participate; however, child strollers are prohibited due to the nature of the course.
