AUBURNDALE – Twenty-five baseball teams from 12 states will spend the next seven days testing their mettle against each other to determine the best of the best.
Welcome to the 2018 Homeschool World Series, taking place at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale.
Hosted by the Homeschool World Series Association, a nonprofit corporation that promotes and coordinates varsity level high school baseball competition among homeschool students throughout North America in a Christian environment, HWSA promotes competition, sportsmanship and leadership through Christian values.
Teams in the HWSA are from states that, unlike Florida, do not allow homeschool students to play for their local high school teams.
The opening ceremony for the tournament starts Monday, April 30 at 9 a.m. Play starts at 11 a.m. Monday and runs through Friday, May 4, with the championships being played Saturday.
The Lake Myrtle Sports Park is located at 2701 Lake Myrtle Road in Auburndale and features nine collegiate sized fields. The complex hosts numerous events throughout the year.
