IRONMAN 70.3 Florida returns to Haines City

HAINES CITY – Picturesque Lake Eva Park in Haines City will once again serve as the starting point for the IRONMAN 70.3 Florida triathlon, the event that combines swimming, biking and running to create the ultimate fitness challenge.

Taking place April 8 – a day after the IRONKIDS Florida Fun Run – more than 2,000 participants are expected to participate.

Participants start with a one-lap, 1.2 mile swim on Lake Eva before moving on to a 56 mile, one loop bike race that will take them from downtown Haines City, over rolling hills, through orange groves, by lakes, golf courses and homes before returning to Lake Eva Park. After the ride, a three loop, 13.1 mile run awaits contestants.

The race kicks off at 5 a.m. on April 8 in Lake Eva Park, 555 Ledwith Ave., Haines City.
