Polk County is, “the most basketball friendly venue in the United States” according to Don Ruedlinger, President of Youth Basketball of America. In addition to YBOA’s National and International Championship events, The Lakeland Center serves as the host for the Boys and Girls Florida State High School Championships, the Sunshine State Conference Collegiate Championships, the Southern Hoops All-Star Tournament, and the NCAA Division II Men’s Elite Eight.
Home to one of the most storied traditions in men’s NCAA Division II basketball, Forida Southern College, Polk County boasts great basketball at all levels.
