Ironman 70.3 Florida: New Venue for 2012
Ninth annual event moves to Haines City, Registration Now Open
Due to renovations at Walt Disney World Resort, Ironman 70.3 Florida has moved to an exciting new location for 2012 at Lake Eva Park near Haines City. The event, which takes place on May 20, 2012, remains just minutes away from many of the Central Florida attractions, including LEGOLAND Florida, and features an exciting new course.
On February 20, 2012, World Triathlon Corporation announced that Lance Armstrong plans to compete in Ironman 70.3 Florida.
Just 30 minutes outside of Orlando, Lake Eva Park provides a great setting for the event. The one-loop swim starts and finishes on a white sand beach. The transition area will be set up in a large parking lot on the site.
The one-loop bike route goes through Polk County and offers athletes the chance to enjoy views of citrus groves and cattle farms as they ride along the quiet country roads. Along the way athletes will ride past Bok Tower Gardens, considered one of Florida’s “must-see” attractions, and the course also goes along Highway 17, which has been designated as one of Florida’s scenic highways.
The run course includes three loops around Lake Eva and finishes in a grassy park near the lake.

Registration opened on December 8, 2011 for Ironman 70.3 Florida. Visit Ironmanhainescity.com for more information. Register online today!
